Okonomiyaki

Okonomiyaki

Have you ever seen these sizzling pan fried food in Japanese restaurants and thought “I want to make this!” but never had a chance to? Well, fret not, the wait is over! We are going to organize an event in the month of December and we will be teaching you how to make ‘Okonomiyaki’ and ‘Takoyaki’. ‘Okonomiyaki’ is derived from ‘okonomi’ which means what you like, and ‘yaki’ which means grilled. It is a popular pan fried food that consists of batter and cabbage with varied toppings and ingredients.

‘Takoyaki’ are grilled octopus balls with savoury sauce spread over it. It was inspired by ‘Akashiyaki’, a small round dumpling from the city of Akashi.
